Notification Centre and Outlook.com

I have 2 sub folders for 2 different email addresses within my outlook.com account.

While I can pin the 2 folders to my start screen and new mail items are detailed on the tiles, is there any way of incoming emails to those folders generating alerts in the notification centre, or indeed any alerts at all?

i have same issue , with exchange email it only started with 8.1 .. We no-longer get notifed if email is delivered in sub folders.. there is visual icon of unread emails but no sound notification or toast etc.

Well I noticed after I updated all my mail boxes had the sound turned off and would not show in notification center I had to go into settings and turn them on and assign a sound for them again idk if that might help but that was my issue

Tried that. No change. Still no notifications apart from the tile itself.
