Notification LED

Simple question: how does notification led work in M8 for Windows?
Is it combined with WP 8.1 notification center or just shows battery status only (like on old HTC with WP 7) ?

On 8X it was also indicating the charging battery status.

Good question no hands on I've seen shows it working or says anything about it & no other windows phone has one that I know of ??

HTC M8 is first WP8 phone with notification led. curious, how it works.

I don't get why you peeps need a notification light....

Night, dark room. LED is blinking, when you got missed call, message or sth. You dont have to touch the phone to see this notification.

That's one of the BlackBerry features I miss! I work in a noisy construction environment, and I can't always hear the phone go off. That would be a feature that would sway me toward a device.

I'm also interested in knowing if there's notification LED which blinks when new message arrives.

Got the phone yesterday, and unfortunately I can confirm that the LED only works for charging. Irritating. The hardware is there, the APIs seem to be there. Why not use it?

Thanks for the info mwdavis84 thats what I expected since no review showed it working, maybe it's a patent problem - It's not necessary but sure would be nice to have it working
