Notification out of speaker when earphones are in

Hi,

I am experiencing and issue that when I am listening to Podcasts or Music using my earphones I still get notifications coming out of the loud speaker.

It does not happen all of the time and seems to happen randomly but it is very frustrating when I am in the office with music playing at 20/30 and then a notification comes out of the speakers.

Lumia 1520 with Nokia Monster Earphones.

Same, in addition to notifications coming through the speaker while talking on the phone (followed by the other person saying "what the heck was that?").

I just figured it was by design.

No it should come thru the earphones,
Loud speaker volume is zero and set to vibrate only.
Earphone volume is at whatever I want it to be.

When it works properly I get the notifications playing over the music in my earphone which is great...the problem is the random times it comes out of the speakers.

I cannot isolate it or see any pattern.
