Now have ENG by bluetooth symbol after .71 update on 950xl

I am assuming this means ENGLISH - but anyone know for sure? Is this for Cortana?

I am not on preview. The only time I've seen that is when I use Continuum. I assume it is telling me that I have a English keyboard attached. Does this persistently stay on?

Agreed with banker1985, could be an indication of the current keyboard language. Do you have multiple keyboard languages installed? If so, and if you have a bluetooth keyboard attached, try pressing Windows-spacebar and see if it switches languages. In Windows 10 it does.

Wasn't connected to anything. it popped up after update and is persistent.

I'm getting this too, but I have also just started using continuum for the first time on Monday. The "ENG" icon is on permanently and I have no other keyboards / languages installed so I assume this is a bug.

I get the letters POR (portuguese) when I pair the surface pen with my L950XL. No, it doesn't work....... But POR appears next to the BT icon.

I guess when you connect an input method (keyboard, stylus) it shows the autocorrect language. Funny that the pen registers as well.

It appears even without continuum connected. Just the pen (and its rubber )

Same here, I assume the notification bar did not refresh.
I was in my truck. ENG next to the BT icon. The only BT device I had with me was my headset, with wich I was not able to take my call. It rang on the headset, but when I pressed answer, the audio stayed on the phone. It worked the last time I tried it. But that is for another thread.

Still on .29

When I got home, still connected to the headset, the ENG was gone.
I woke the BT keyboard and the ENG came back.
