Thank you! I'm still getting accustomed to them but absolutely love them both so far.
The Surface has exceeded all my expectations. Microsoft markets it as a tablet (probably because the keyboard is not included), but 90% of the time I'm using it as a laptop and it is dynamite as such. When I do use it as a tablet, I keep having to remind myself that it's still a real computer and I don't have the limitations I had when I was using an iPad. "Oh, I can actually use any website now!" "Hey, I can use a thumb drive!"
The 830 has its quirks but I love Win 8.1. A year or two ago when I first tried Android I ended up going back to iPhone after several months. I don't [see] myself going back now.
Great, glad to know! Windows 10 is steadily approaching, and it looks like our experience with our devices would be taking a rather interesting turn pretty soon.
Most of those I know are either using an Android device or an iPhone (my parents, grandparents, most of my friends, my girlfriend, her sisters and her officemates...), and I've been offered to make the switch when my L1020 fatally broke down. So I tried a few "demo" phones here and there; some were plastic, some claimed to have an aircraft aluminum shell variant but whose slim design allowed the device to flex, there were swiveling cameras... and at the end of the day, I ended up with a L535. Looking forward to receiving my repaired L1020 in a few weeks as well.
