O2 UK UPDATE- No FM Radio and No Data Sense

I'm on O2 and have Data Sense working so it obviously is enabled otherwise it wouldn't work for me!!!

Well, I've noted this on other threads but I've got an unbranded 8X on O2 (UK) and DataSense is NOT enabled following the update to GDR2. I also took the plunge and did a hard-rest twice (the second time without the SIM inserted) and DataSense is NOT enabled.

So, what phone have you got and did it come with GDR2 pre-installed i.e. was it native?

Hello I just got the GRD2 update and have tried restarting the phone but there is still no Radio or Data Sense.

All in all pointless update... Has anybody else got radio or data sense?

What's your make/model? I'm on O2 (UK) and my 8X has got Radio following the GDR2 update. The version is 8.0.10327.77

I didn't think you could do that, wiping all the updates off the phone as well. I might be wrong about that though.
There is a way, though it requires specific key strokes. I don't actually recommend it unless your phone becomes unusable. Here's the information I got from Samsung Support:

  1. Turn the phone off.
  2. Power-on the device, and then ?
  3. Press the Volume-Down key just after powering it on, then you?ll see the ?!? exclamation on the screen. (This might need to be retried very often as the sequence is at times difficult to get correctly.)
  4. Press the Volume up > Volume down > Power > Volume down key sequentially (one at a time.) This should be done within 30 seconds.
  5. The device will then show the two gear wheels in the centre screen confirming the reset is in process.

Now that I didn't know, thanks for that :)

I have an unbranded Samsung ATIV S and had the update OTA, my guess would be that HTC chose not to enable Data Sense for its devices.
