On Screen Keys Instead of Capacitive?

I prefer capacitive buttons. But I promise you'll eventually get used to the on screen buttons. I disliked them because you accidentally press home or back while you're still getting used to the new device. But I've had the LG g4 now for a while and I don't mind the on screen buttons anymore. But boy. The first week was a nightmare. Haha. But, as I mentioned, you get used to it. ☺

As an n920 owner, an OSB would be a deal breaker for me. How can you float the 950/XL as the premium / flagship phone and then make it look cheap and nasty with OSB?

Yes I have handled phones with OSB ... didn't like it. Someone previously posted that it takes about a week to get used to and that it was a nightmare. The way I see it is: why should I struggle with a week's nightmare / learning curve when there's other equally capable (premium) phones out there WITH hardware buttons?

As long as I can hide the capacaptive buttons and actually use full screen I don't see virtual navtigation buttons as a step back compared to permanent capacative navigation buttons.

I recently had to switch from a 920 to a 640 and I LOVE the OSB's! There have been so many times where I sat my phone down and accidently touched the Cortana button didn't realize it and it wrecked my battery. Even sitting it in the cup holder in my car I've hit the stupid search button on it and it popped up on my head unit with Cortana wanting something. It was so infuriating so many times. This has happened 0 times in the 2 months I've had my 640..

Hmmm OK that's interesting cuz I get the cortanta thing happening as well and it is annoying. I like Weven's idea about OSB on demand. I guess we'll have to see the real thing instead of renders.

AT Gabriel: Maybe but the positioning of the OSB's in the renders does look awkward. If the XL rumours about supporting a surface 3 stylus would be a plus in its' favour.

I'm willing to bet that most of you that are against OSB (not all but most) maybe haven't actually used it day to day. A lot of these fears seem to not jive with the real world experience and the customization options they bring. I was one of you, but after using them daily I happily see the benefits. As for making the new phones look cheap, that doesn't even compute. Is it just because they first debuted on a lower end phone? How could a beneficial feature make it look cheap, that doesn't even make sense. Does the onscreen keyboard of the surface make it look cheap, and it looks more high end when you attach the physical keyboard? Nonsensical.

It is exactly like that. The on screen keyboard on the surface makes it look incredibly cheap and androidish, you have the point right in front of you but you don't get it

How exactly do you plan on using a surface tablet without an onscreen keyboard when the keyboard isn't attached? How do you type on ANY tablet without an attached external keyboard? I think you're the one not getting it bro. Onscreen keyboards/buttons are completely normal and have been for years.
