Online Only photos fail on upload to Facebook

My bride's SP3 only has 256GB ad her stack of photos is easily above that limit, so we only store her photos in OneDrive as online only. However, when she tries to post these pictures from OneDrive to Facebook, the upload fails. I've searched through countless forum and it appears that the photos MUST be stored locally...which becomes a convoluted nightmare for harddrive space management. There has got to be an easier way!

Anyone have a solution? TIA
