Get both! I think I paid $30 for my genuine white replacement back. Small drawback of the white: after half a year it developed some scratches, which stand out more on a white case than on a black one. So it looks a little scuffed by now. I do like the 'fresh' look of white over the kind of dull black back cover.

I think it's up to personal preference. IMO, the white is more likely to catch stains but if there's a price difference between the two, I would go for the color that is less in price.

It doesn't matter. Buy either then swap the back for a Mozo

Then the color of the shell really matters less. White is probably my least favorite phone color.

Just like joe said, go for both. But if you want one, get the white one. It looks much better, although my personal choice for colour is black. But for 950xl, white it is. You can buy another back panel for some cheaper rate. Also, you can put a black case on the white lumia. Looks adorable.
My vote, go for WHITE.

I much prefer black phones, over white... My wife has had 2 white phones, and I can't remember if it was just one or both, but they somehow got some color bleed from the case she was using. Never seen that on a black phone.

Think if it were the screen face area (like 650) we were talking about then definitely white, sadly though that does not appear to be an option. Many if not most people adorn their phones with a case so to me the back colour has little relevance.

I have had the pleasure of owning both and white looks better with a clear case on this phone. Right now on my Lumia 950 I have a clear case and a Walnut Black wood Mozo cover. I alternate between that and a Lime Green Mozo cover.

White for sure. A full black one lacks any contrasting features. The white back cover contrasts nicely with the black camera housing. On the regular 950 you could go either way due to the larger silver ring around the camera being the contrasting feature.

Get black, all the phones I've ever owned have been black and they look quite nice

I have the Fosman TPU case on mine, relatively thin, but adds grip.

With the case on the Lumia 950XL, device feels nice & solid, easy to handle - FWIW
