Can I install other RM1073 ROM on ATT version?

I know on L920 and other the product code was different, but on ATT being the same for others one, its possible?

i dont know about the Att 640 but for others models, lumia, Android, Nokia and more if is the same RM you can change and thats it! im searching for the same
Any help??

The AT&T RM-1073 aka the Lumia 640 cannot be flashed to another non-AT&T RM-1073 at the moment. I'm still exploring options but I'm skeptical till Microsoft releases WM10 for it, that's when the registry hack would work to de-brand it.

I upgraded the phone to Windows 10.0.10586.11. Do you have instructions for de-branding Lumia 640.

I read through another thread on XDA-Developers forum, but it seems that it did not work.

Thanks

Ohh i seee... And thats new for me! Today i buy 5 att 640 so... Whats the difference about this and the normal one? I'm going to unlock the lumias /im from costa rica!
Cheers!

You can try using some CV rom for RM-1073, I've an Argentinian 640LTE, maybe you can try downloading the CV ROM for Argentina that is: 059X227 .. Then you install it with the Windows Phone Image Designer.. Follow this tutorial forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2515453 and good look!

AT&T has always been a company who locks down branded phones. Remember that this phone was custom built with AT&T network in mind and lacks dual sim, which is more common place on international variants. In fact, Microsoft never offered an unlocked unbranded version of the L640 on the US.

RM-1073 is the T-mobile variant, not sure what the AT&T one is.

Correction: RM-1073 is the hardware model number. The determination of what ROM it loads with is the product code which looks like: 059xxxx

AT&T has a different secure boot certificate which prevents loading other ROMs for the same hardware. Other variants use the generic certificate which allows flashing to a different ROM for the same model. There is a trick wherein you edit the registry to make it think it is a different product code, then let it download a newer firmware that overwrites the AT&T firmware. Unfortunately, for newer phones there might not yet be a newer firmware available. There are only a very few models that this trick has been successful, including the 635 gophone.

Thank you for the correction. Something I wonder is if both have the same hardware model number, why does there seem to be more settings in T-mobile's one, and less in AT&T's?

Because that is controlled by software which one carrier has made more modifications to than the other.

Doesn't work on the AT&T 640 or any other AT&T Lumia

I'm curious about this. Can the registry hack not be done on current rom? I just picked one up today but it's been a while since I tried that, on a 635.

It can be, it's just that there isn't a higher version ROM available that can be flashed from the current firmware.
