Outlook: Is firstnamelastname@outlook.com or firstname.lastname@...more professional

I secured firstnamelastname@outlook.com, firstname.lastname@outlook.com, and firstname_lastname@outlook.com.

I want to use one of these for my resume and work/professional relate uses. I can decide between the firstnamelastname@ and the firstname.lastname@.

Is anyone in HR or does hiring? Which one would you think is more professional?

Both should be fine. Both are professional enough.

The only time I think the . Would be preferred is if the end of your first name and beginning of your last name could look confusing. Like will.livingston@outlook.com is easier to read than willlivingston@outlook.com

Out of those you secured, I would stick with firstnamelastname@outlook.com

I prefer the first letter of your name followed by your lastname. Example: jdoe@outlook.com

It's easier to read and remember, but it's also a matter of taste and preference.

Vote for either using the dot or first name initial.
If your name is long, maybe the initial is better. User name that's longer than half the e-mail address don't look so pretty.

The full stop between first name and surname might be better in terms of stopping spam.

Personally, I'd go with no dot or underscore, unless it's a really long name or is confusing to read. Just makes it easier to type and remember, in my opinion, if you're giving the address to someone who knows your name already, for example.

I created a new account by address lastname.firstname at outlook.com

I think it's professional too and I'm gonna use it on my work related stuff

Just buy your own domain with your name in it - it will about the same as a latte and you can get outlook to collect and reply on behalf of it.

You may want to consider how it sounds when you give your email address over the phone. Would it sound better with having to say "dot" between your name than just saying your full name @outlook.com?

Any of those are good. I already have the dot in my gmail name so I went no dot for outlook.com address to have one of each.

Nah. The of it was having an email that I could say out loud to people and they will instantly remember it, without having to do explanations or pauses =(
