Outlook meeting request invitation issue

Hello,

I love my Nokia 920 and Windows Phone 8 but might have to give it up due to being unable to accept meeting requests. I have an IMAP account for work and every time someone sends me a meeting request from their Outlook desktop client I get this when I try to respond:

---------------------------------
Can't respond to meeting request

This account either doesn't use a calendar or the calendar is not synching. So we'll send your response from Outlook account.
Do you want to continue?
----------------------------------

I'm hoping there is something I can do to fix this because work isn't migrating to an exchange server any time soon, or likely ever. I don't see a way to associate my IMAP account with a calendar on the phone so I'm hoping someone has a creative solution. For some this may seem like a minor issue but I am finding that when I do allow it to send through my 'personal' Outlook account my business contacts start using that personal Outlook email account to send me work related emails, etc.

My iPhone 5 doesn't have this issue but I'd rather keep the Nokia and sell the iPhone 5.

Thanks.

I haven't been able to respond to a meeting request on windows phone since 8.1, anyone know how to fix this?

Try this:
1) create a outlook.com account for work (as outlook.com supports push and you don't have to set a manual sync period) and forward work emails to that.
2) go to add a send-only account and add your work account
3) change the default "from" address to your work account, which would result in (first name, surname on behalf of workemail@workdomain)

However you may want to check with your IT department before doing so as they may or may not prohibit you from doing so.

Edit: I just noticed this thread is over 14 months old!:grincry: looks like time to go to sleep.
