So I decided to price the unlocking of my AT&T Lumia 920. EIther there is an issue with the system, or they are drunk!

Tell me your thoughts.

It better be a joke/mistake because that's ridiculous! I was going to try to find a place to unlock my phone for me as I just dropped AT&T and plan to use StraightTalk for now until I can unlock my phone, but definitely not for $1000!

I think it's just a dummy price they put up because they can't unlock the 920 right now.

That price just for show. It has been there awhile. I bet we won't see any unlock method until the exclusive end.

I wish they would just state that they couldn't unlock AT&T 920s. What a dummy price that is.

LOL..I also got the same message and I was thinking in the same lines.
I think they dont want to say "we cant unlock it" and instead want to discourage users.
If someone really is ready to pay 1000 bucks, then it will be interesting to see their reaction.

I'm not sure if the Portico update did the damage but they were able to give me an unlock code for my Lumia locked on the Rogers network. However, inserting an alternative micro-sim into the phone doesn't cause it to prompt with the unlock menu anylonger. Any ideas?

You can bring your 920 and use a ST ATT based sim card.
You dont need to unlock it.
However, you will be locked to the ATT service as opposed to Tmo service.
An unlocked GNexus has an option of ATT based or Tmo based service depending on the sim card.
