PC won't recognize 635 after upgrading to WM10 .164

So I upgraded my Lumia 635 to the most recent insider build, .164.

After the upgrade my PC will no longer see the phone when connected through USB. The phone itself will give me the message that "the phone is charging slowly, use the cable which came with the device", which of course I'm using.

I tried a hard reset, that didnt work. I tried a soft reset with the phone plugged into the PC, that didnt work either. When I reset with the phone plugged in the PC will tell me "its safe to remove NOKIABOOTMGR2" but the box disappears quickly and the phone is not recognized.

I tried installing WDRT, but it doesnt detect my phone either.

I tried two different cables and I also tried my Lumia 640, which my PC has no trouble reading.

Had anyone else ran into this problem? Please let me know how to proceed. At this point I just want to roll back to 8.1 and be done with the WM10 nonsense.

Had the same problem with my 635. Had to use another USB cable and roll back to 8.1. Done with win 10

Well it took four different cables, including the one that came with the 635 and finally I was able to get the WDRT to recognize the phone (windows still wouldn't see the phone, only the recovery app did) using the cable that came with my 640.

Thanks for the advice glossallalia. I reverted back to 8.1 and windows can see my phone now without issue. While I must admit WM10 looks much better compared to 8.1, everything else is trash on the 635 and I will take function over form always.

Also, after recovering I now have Lumia Cyan on the 635. When I first purchased it I beleive it had Lumia Denim installed. Should I make an effort to upgrade to Demin or leave the current Cyan build?
