Has anyone of you noticed that people you talk with have problems to hear or understand you? It happens only when talking on a handset, not on a speakerphone or a headset. Seems like Active Noise Cancellation fetaure is causing this problem by cancelling speaker's voice too. Looks like a common problem with most Lumia range devices.

Lumia 920 - Anybody with mic sensitivity problems ... - Nokia Support Discussions

Following some advices I found on the net, I covered the small hole used by noise cancellation microphone (on a top of the phone) with scotch tape from the inside of removable shell. It only decreased the problem, didn't solve it. It is still unacceptable because to the other side, my voice is muffled and discontinuous (more or less, depending on my voice loudness and background noise level).

If you have this problem too, please join and vote to make pressure on Nokia/Microsoft to solve this by debugging ANC feature or making it optional.

I'm curious if this is something that might be addressed in GDR2 and Amber. I was looking at bugs and defects for the 925 and haven't seen a complaint about this yet. Though I'm sure if I missed one it will be pointed out!

When I first bought my Lumia 620, my mom was saying that she is hearing somebody else speaking in the background when I was alone in my room. I wonder active noise cancellations might be the case. In the good old days Nokia phones allowed us to turn on/off each of these features...

I litterally came here to make this thread, this problem needs sorting out, I'm due to recieve my 3rd 620 in 2 months because of this issue, I shall try the tape if it persists on my new handset

Onslaughta, let us know if something is different on your new device. By looking at other people's experience, most of them claim that nothing really changed. I'm pretty much sure this is a software issue, not hardware.

Suden, I've also noticed buzzy noice from ear piece, but that is something I can live with. Listening to complaints like "I can't hear you", "pardon?", "could you repeat that?" unless I talk really loud is something I cannot. It's really annoying, like Nokia's ignorance of this problem.

I really can't see it changing much, I'm just waiting on it now

When it happens I tap the bottom of my phone lightly on my stomach or chest and it usually solves the problem?!?

Well 3 or so days down the line and the problem persists on another new handset, nokia need to sort this out

I have had this exact issue and it was getting under my skin like no other forcing me to use blue tooth or handset.

I sent it in to nokia for repair. They looked at it and sent it back saying it was fixed. NOTHING was fixed. Problem was exactly the same.

Sent it in again. This time they kept it for 10 days before I got it back. Problem seems to be solved now. What they did? I don't know. the letter that comes with it is very generic letter with n real explanation. It has been a week now since I got it back. So far no one has complained that they cannot hear me.

One thing I do notice different..seems like they changed the shell of my phone. Its not the same one I had. The other thing I notice is prior to me sending it in the second time, when I shake my phone holding in my hand right to left and left to right, I would hear a faint..tick tick tick sound..like almost as if the internal board somehow had come loose. Now I do not hear that anymore. Not sure if maybe..just a theory..maybe the internal board comes lose and the mic moves off the speaker hold and thus not in its optimal spot to be able to decipher the sound? maybe..but then again..i don't know because when i try voice memos, they always worked crystal clear without any problems..
