Perhaps Nokia need to update the Glance app/setting for 8.1

I have 8.1 installed on both my 920 and 1020, and apart from a few very minor hiccups (such as battery drain) it is running like a dream on both.

However last night, I was playing around with my 920 and the glance screen suddenly stopped working; it would not show when I locked the device, and the app would crash whenever I tried to open it in the settings. A simple turn off and on again fixed this but it made me think that glance is not optimised for 8.1 just yet. But then, just now, after using Facebook Messenger on my 1020, this happened:





That's right; my glance screen is displaying upside down. I haven't reset the phone yet so it's still happening, but it's more of an amusing quirk if anything. A timely reminder that 8.1 is still a preview, and also that many apps and settings aren't updated to work with the software just yet.

i had my rotation locked for the past month, i enabled it today, then few hours later i had this .. maybe its related? who knows

a restart fixed it tho

It's happening to me right now my glance is upside down!

Maybe I am talking ahead of time...but on my Lumia 720, Glance is working as it should - as of now, that is!!!!! Who knows what the next minute may bring!

Well I know I was having issues with notifications showing up. I had to hard reset my phone for other issues, but when I did I ended up getting an update for glance and it restarted my phone. Since then it worked as it did.

The Glance update in February specifically stated in it's notes that it was updated for 8.1.

well known issue if you have remote desktop app, which was just released today, installed.
saw it documented on another WP site.

I never got this on my phone, I use both glance and remote desktop app.

Was about to create a thread about this very thing. Happened for the first time about 5 minutes after using Remote Desktop for the first time.

I restarted the phone and everything is right-side-up again, BUT...

Now when I get an email from the account that appears on my lockscreen, the message preview text appears at the top of my glance screen in a giant font! Another restart hasn't fixed it.

That it has nothing to do with Remote Desktop and is just a glitch like any other....affects some but not others...

Huh? It happens everytime after you connect to a remote computer . So it must be that app then
