Phone erases message inbox on its own frequently, except SIM-storage HELP!

Hi,

I have the wonderful Ativ S-phone and it works like a charm, but for reasons I can't understand it deletes the message inbox irregularly almost every week. It is a bit annoying as I receive information there that I would like to hang on to. When the phone is erased only messages stored on my SIM-card remain.

I have looked through the different settings, but I am unable to find any that could alter this behaviour.

Have you tried looking into mail account sync settings? And change value for "download mail from" Default it's 7 days, you can increase that value and see what happens.

Not email, but regular old-fashioned text messages. All threads are erased suddenly and without apparent reason.

That's strange. The only thing I can think of is text message backup. Try setting it on and off.
