thanks for the quick response. do we need to connect my phone to Pc while installing? or how is the process?

I have tried all of these options earlier , didnt work out; I am facing this issue after I installed wp 8.1. Please advice me

Let the program install also make sure your cable works properly. Try all usb ports on pc.

Has this phone connected to this PC previously ? If yes, reboot the phone. I have witnessed a few times my PC would not recognize my 920, but after a reboot of the phone, it was fine. Also, make sure u are using a proper USB wire. Some cheap wires only send power and not data. Good luck
