Hello everyone,
I updated my Notebook to Windows 8.1 Pro and since than I cant connect my phone to the notebook.
Worked fine previously but for some reason windows phone modern UI app is not connecting and the Explorer does not show a connected device either
anyone else got those problems?

Odd, just checked my Surface RT 8.1 and my 8.1 Pro PC. Both metro versions of the wp8 connector SW under 8.1 rtm work fine. On the 8.1 pro PC it is not even connected directly, but via a hub. Tried different ports?
I would also try to force install the WP8 drivers onto the OS from here (these are posted in Snickler's thread on XDA). Maybe that is irrelevant but worth a try.

I've had the problem with Windows 8. Eventually I discovered that I was able to connect if I had WiFi turned off on the phone.

This is assuming, of course, that Windows 8.1 hasn't introduced some new issue.

No problems at all here with 8.1 RTM.

It did update the drivers the first time I installed.

Ditto. No problem with both my Acer S3 and Surface RT on 8.1

I'll be sure to try that. I normally keep my WIFI on in the house due to my lack of signal. But I am having problems connecting.

I don't know about the modern UI app. But they do change the place of the Phone's link in Explorer. It is not below the last drive of your computer but now among those folders like "Downloads" and "Music" under "This PC" in Windows 8.1. Also, I noticed that there is no device icon in the notification area any more. So instead of clicking "Remove device", now I guess we have to directly pull out the USB cable.
