Hello there,

There seems to be an issue with contacts, and how their phone numbers are stored. When storing a contact number with a local format (ie 099123123) instead of internaltional (ie +59899123123) and receiving a sms message or phone call, the contact number fails to find the contact name (the received number is in international format, but the stored number is in local format). This only happens on the lumia 520, because I have a lumia 720 and 920 and it works fine.

I'm not sure if im clear, but is there any way I can fix this? The device already has the lumia black update. And doing a soft reset doesn't help.

I have googled a bit, and some people say this happens when you have a phone number twice but I have checked and this is not the problem.

An example:

Contact name: Alice, number 099123123.
Send sms to alice, name displays fine on the message hub.
Receive response from Alice, number is not recognized and shows as +59899123123 in the message hub.

have you tried deleting the number and saving it again with a different name?

It was turned off, I have turned it on but it doesn't seem to fix the problem.

It is with every contact that is not saved with an international phone number format.

Yes, country is set correctly (Uruguay).

What brings my attention is that the box was in chineese (or korean or w/e) and im in a latin america country. Perhaps that has something to do with the problem.

Most likely yes. Try this....In settings, accounts, long press on Windows and sync it. Then soft reset (off then on). Let me know if that works

Nope, didn't work. I believe this is a firmware related isse that wont be able to be fixed =/
