Photos App (Hub) in WP8.1

I have just moved from a Lumia 800 to Lumia 930 and so far I love the phone but have noticed one problem in WP 8.1 with the photos app.

On my old phone (WP7), the pictures hub automatically downloaded photos from my OneDrive to the phone. The photos hub in 8.1 doesn't do that, instead I have to go to albums and click "OneDrive" under "online" then "OneDrive Albums".

This isn't ideal but wouldn't be so bad if doing that actually showed the photo folders from my OneDrive, but it doesn't, my "Videos" folder shows up but not my "Photos" folder. I have checked on the OneDrive website and the format of the folder is set to "Pictures" not "Documents" so it should work.

Does anyone know how to either sync my OneDrive photos with the phone for offline viewing or to get my online OneDrive folders to show in the photos hub? Currently the photos hub is pretty useless to me, although I can browse my pictures if I go via the actual OneDrive app!

I figured out how to fix this today.
Oddly enough it didn't occur my on 8.1 Dev devices but did on my 930.

Open the OneDrive App and go through and open and wait until all the thumbnails off any picture folders you have load.
Once you've viewed all the folded at least once in OneDrive they'll load correctly into the Pictures Hub.


There should really be a PSA about this, I reset my phone in hopes of fixing it, was not happy.

That doesn't seem to have worked for me, unless the album art in the music folders is affecting it. Very frustrating, but if I'm not the only person to experience it, I guess there's still hope for a fix!
