Hello Everyone!

Physworks has been out since November last year on the WP marketplace, but I feel it is ready for some kind of announcement after working on improving it since release.

The game is centered around completing goals/objectives on physics-based levels by using a set of provided objects to come up with an improvised solution to achieve said goals. As you progress, better and more advanced objects are unlocked, which you can use in later levels or in the recently updated custom-level (sandbox) mode.

The most notable features so far are:
  • Easy to pick up & play. Steady learning curve
  • Over 70 levels of increasing complexity
  • More than 65 objects to unlock
  • A level editor / Sandbox mode for creating your own levels
  • Wiring & Logic gate system

There is still a huge list of features I want to add to the game over time but right now, I'm focused on upgrading the game to WP8 with MonoGame so it can take advantage of things like custom shaders, faster start-up times, etc. I'm also aiming to have the game on the Windows 8/RT store within the next 6 months.

For anyone who has already played the game, let me know what you think of it and what you would like to see added to the game in the future.

Hopefully you all enjoy it as much as I have making/updating it over the past year! :)

The trailer is a little dated now, its from a few versions back when the Wiring system was first added, bit is still valid:

Just a heads-up for anyone who has played Physworks. Update 1.4 is out which upgrades the game to WP8 and MonoGame.

The biggest change in 1.4 is the ability to connect wire objects together directly, without having to place wires between them.

Full changelog:
  • Upgraded game to fully support Windows Phone 8
  • Removed bloom effect from game to make way for better things
  • Removed adverts from trial version
  • Wire objects can now connect directly to each other, without wires
  • Optimizations to the wiring system
  • New title screen music
  • Fixed incorrect wire inputs for 7-segment display
  • Spawn cost of 7-segment increased from 60 to 65
  • Fixed wire tutorial not showing after selecting certain wire objects
  • Fixed missing text next to new goal button in goal editor
  • Updated texture and icon for tire
  • Mini-map size is now saved when minimizing/restoring the game
  • Reduced volume of the square, sawtooth and sine SFX for sound emitter
  • Default volume of sound emitters reduced from 100 to 50
  • Improved start-up/launch time of game
  • Fix for rare eternal loading bug on start-up

Heres a screenshot taken from a debug build a couple of weeks ago:

If you haven't tried the game yet, now is a great time to jump in!

As always, have fun!
