I installed the 8.1 update from TechNet yesterday to my Surface Pro 2 256GB and using in-place upgrade and immediately noticed that when it booted back up there was terrible color banding and blacks are crushed whites are blown out. I have tried to correct using the included Intel graphics control panel however I have had no luck.

This was not an issue before the upgrade.

The Surface Pro 2 already has Windows 8.1 installed. And the recovery image inside the system is 8.1 as well.
If you needed to re-install it, all you need to do is PC Settings > Update and Recovery > Recovery, and select the option you want (keep your personal data or not during the re-install of the OS).
