Hi,

I have a weird issue with the podcasts app in 8.1.
I was looking at Data Sense and it showed me that since 4/21, the Podcasts app has used 4.34 GB of wi-fi data.

Now, I only have 3.78 GB of downloaded podcasts, accumulated over a year!!!

I also checked the podcasts app if, for any podcasts, 'ALL' episodes were downloaded. Nothing of the sort.

I have no clue what the Podcasts app did to use 4.34 GB. The usage also reconciles with my data usage pattern for a couple of days, as shown by my ISP. It was around 2.2 GB and 1.9 GB per day.

Anybody faced something similar? This is all the more risky for me as my monthly limit is 10 GB.:(

Nilesh

Edit: I want to note that for atleast 24 out of this 48 hrs with high usage, I was in office and was not using the wi-fi!!

Do you have it set to constantly download the newest podcast? That may be it.

That's not the app problem, you did something
My podcasts app set to download 5 podcasts a week via wifi and it does just that

On all my podcasts, I've set it to keep 3 episodes. And yes, it does download the latest one, if available, on wi-fi. My podcasts were pretty updated so I don;t think anything needed to be downloaded in 2 days.
