(Hope this is the right section)
What is the Metro Design Language to you?
Metro is what Windows 8 & Phone's UI's are based on, all which started with ZUNE.

Metro is just smart. Its a design concept that focuses on content and cuts on all the crap. That sums it up for me.

maybe this could help

One guy from the other thread said perfectly what is Metro, actually Modern UI as MS calls it now.
Behold his quote!
"Iconography combined with panorama apps are the way to go."

Segoe UI is a bastardised version of Segoe that was modified to work with craptastic ClearType :)

An UI style that depends heavily on proper use of typography without curly lines on characters in a minimalism design to provide unified UX throughout system. At least that's what I'm trying to archive with most of my websites...

In a short definition, Metro/Modern design language is about bringing information to user at first glance and willing to get rid of unnecessary elements to leave open spaces.

im surprised noone brought up the train yet.

although metro: last light kinda counts i guess
