Power and heat issues

To keep things very brief my SP4 can't hold a charge and it constantly heats up very quickly even in standby it'll just heat up and the battery will drain extremely quick.

Anyone have any ideas as to why?

Yesterday evening was the first time I spent a prolonged period using it and I have to agree. When It was charging, it was definitely warm, but not hot. I noticed the battery life was atrocious. I began using it after 6pm connected to an external monitor (surface screen also on) streaming videos and browsing the web on the surface screen. By 9:30, the battery was at 4%.

Tell us there's something we can do.... ha ha
