Well, I don't know what else to tell you other than to go get it fixed, probably should start by getting in touch Microsoft customer support.

If you have no intentions of getting it fixed.. Then you can download One touch lockscreen for locking the screen and then double tap to wake..

Install lock screen app to lock the screen and activate "double tap to awake" in touch setting under setting menu you should be good to go ...

Did u install navmii?
Mine also not working properly from this evening. Had to soft reset thrice till now for that to work.. Yeah ofcourse its working on prolonged press, so can power off and soft reset. But not able to lock the screen.
