Pre-Order Cancelled with Verizon

Just cancelled my pre-order. Getting information from Verizon is ridiculous. Along with the random reboots 1-10 times a day, I'm gonna wait until the dust settles before I do anything. I hope my extremely cracked iPhone 4 lasts for several more weeks :) I can barely read the screen.

Also, a couple of other things. If you online chat with Verizon today they suddenly can't check your order and you have to call the 800 number to check or cancel.

Costco is selling the HTC 8X for $129 but the specs are all wrong, so I'm not sure what that means. It shows 8GB memory, microSD slot, 217ppi, so not sure what that's about. And yes, this is for the Verizon version.

I'm not going to believe anything until people confirm that are getting their pre-orders or they walked into a store and bought one.

My tracking number says my phone is in Memphis, TN and will be delivered tomorrow, so unless Fed Ex is in on the conspiracy....

Also guy at the local Verizon store showed me a demo 8X he had behind the counter and said that phones will absolutely be in stock tomorrow. That said, he said they did get a limited stock and based on the number of calls he had, and how many people like me had stopped in, he said selling out in the first day or two was a possibility.

Also cancelled and will be picking up tomorrow...

Got sick of being thrown around (and I started that CONFUSION thread!)

Excited I can finally get one!

I'm thinking about letting the dust settle before purchasing, too. The reboot issue needs to be identified and addressed before I'm willing to jump in. The amount of reports from posters, reviewers, websites, etc has convinced me that this issue is not just a few "lemons".

Is it hardware? Software? Firmware? Can it be fixed? WILL it be fixed? I need concrete answers before I'm willing to committ. Patience is a virtue, I guess...

Watch there be never ending lines out VZW stores tomorrow morning... What fun! lol

Haha the sad part is, I haven't been this excited for a new phone since Verizon launched the original Motorola Droid. Its kinda fun to be this excited again.

From my understanding, most of the bug reports are coming in from AT&T users correct? I'm willing to bet its a carrier issue ;)

Take that back. I assumed the 822 and 8X would ship together so I really didn't check but looking at it the 822 shipped and the 8X didn't. That said I am still waiting for the phone to ship. The mail in rebate is a pain and I'd rather wait and get the instant discount.

You know, I hadn't thought of that. I hope you're right! Only downside, people will return there AT&T phones and make it harder to get on Verizon :)

Apparently, Microsoft may already be testing a medium-sized WO8 update...there is an article on this site referencing it.
