Why is it so difficult to find the unlocked prices xD

Nonetheless, I have to say amazon are cheaper, if you look at other European websites too including amazon .de .es .it (etc.) You can get the Lumia 1520 from Amazon for ?380, that includes the 2 year warranty!

Check out the price of the 920 and 1020 on amazon! ?185 for a red 920. ?295 for a 1020 and I even saw a 925 for ?180 all unlocked! Update: 820 for ?155 :0

Bear in mind the cheaper 1520s on Amazon (around ?380 or less) are most likely the International versions from Hong Kong, and will have the HK firmware.

I understand that, but I got a Lumia 1520 brand new from Amazon UK for ?300, which did have UK firmware.
And on Amazon.it, directly from Amazon.it The price is ?370 :P

I'm reluctant to buy online for various reasons, whereas from my own personal experience Carphone gives excellent service. I've bought three phones in store from them with no problems. And if you get a problem it's often much easier to return it to the store than to return an online-bought device.

What is wrong with HK firmware?

You'd get firmware updates when they are approved Hong Kong, regardless of where you actually are with the phone at the time. And if the language is set to Traditional Chinese then it's a case of Roulette when setting it for UK use.

I don't have language issues for English US. And I am not in a hurry for update. Black is fine for now.

Thanks for the link :) FYI, Amazon is cheaper for the 1520 and the same price for the 930. This is from amazon direct (not third party sellers)

Yes, thanks, it's just that I prefer stores because it's easier to preview goods/ask questions/collect/return if you get a problem etc.
