Hate to rain on all the downer threads, and I hope everyone resolves their issues, but I made the switch yesterday from SP2 to SP4 and I just wanted to share: "YES!" Insert baby fist bump meme here.

I was pretty nervous about giving up old reliable. For anyone else who may be, don't be. Mainly, I thought the SP3 was on the big side for me, I liked the smaller size for carrying around, but the weight reduction makes up for it. I just have to buy new bags now, lol.
I use it mainly for drawing / photoshop / lightroom and consumption, light productivity. SP2 i5 8G 256, to same in SP4.

That's great that it's working well for you. I would really like to purchase one in December, but I won't if there are still a lot of issues with it. I would be upgrading from a Surface 2 (the painfully unstable Windows RT :unhappysweat:).

I have had a few issues, most annoyingly boot up is painfully slow, but they seem to be all software related, so I can tough it out for a bit.

My SP4 i5/128 takes about 6-8 seconds to boot up. Not sure how long yours takes but it should be fastest there is.

Another thread identified the slow boot problem as happening when the type cover is folded under the tablet. I experienced it when I tried to boot that way. With the keyboard deployed normally, it boots in seconds.

Hmm, ill play with that. Seems to be waking as well, doesn't want to wake up after cover has been closed. I have to hold the power button for 30 seconds, then boot, and it takes a while. I'll try leaving it in laptop mode.
ETA that does make a difference. Hope it can be fixed!

I had one freeze soon after I got it, but otherwise my i5/256GB model has been rock solid for me. Haven't even had the display driver crashes in Edge , but then I also use AdGuard.

Battery life has also been good for me

Mine is by far the best "laptop" (if you want to call it that) that I've ever owned. I love using it daily.
