Problem downloading speech language and checking for phone updates

That's like 0.25 GB. But the speech language list shows it's size as only 23 MB

These two are screenshots from my L520.

As you can see in the above screenshots, the language packs shouldn't be occupying memory anywhere as near as 0.25GB.

This is what happens when I try checking for OS updates... As you can see the last time it successfully checked for an update was about a month ago. Since then it just says "Checking for updates"

How large are these speech files btw? Someone from the Microsoft online community told me that they're as big as 3GB? But the list says that they're pretty small...

false. the Spanish speech/lang that I had download was like 25+MB.

Even if it was above 25MB it surely wasn't above 40MB. And I don't think my Wifi is so slow that it would take two whole days to download one language pack that is just 23MB. What should I do next? Take it to Nokia Care?

The problem resolved only after doing a hard reset. I suggest you do the same.

I'm also having tha exact same problem. Stuck on downloading since past two days. I've L920 and more than 20 GB free. Have latest W10 Mobile.

If you have problem downloading speech packs and keyboard packs, try enrolling to the fast ring in the windows insider app ( again, nothing will happen) Once you do, try to download packs again. This will fix the problem.

I don't have a problem in changing language. I have a problem in downloading the speech language pack for my region. Try going to "speech" and downloading the English(India) language pack.
