Problem with Photostatic Collage app on Lumia 640 XL.

A friend of mine tried running this app on her phone. While trying to add a photo to the collage, it took a long time for the album to finish loading all photos. Sometimes it won't even load at all. Her photos are stored in an SD card with around 14Gb of images. It's not just this app, there is another collage maker having the same issue (I cant remember the name offhand). I'm wondering whether this could be because of inadequate specs to run/load a huge album. Anyone else having the same issue on a low or medium spec WP?

Works on my 640 XL and regular 640. All my pictures are on my sd card.
