Problem with texts from most recent iOS

So, here's a new one. Ever since the most recent iOS update, occasional texts I receive on my 950XL from iOS users will come through as Japanese. Anyone else seeing this?

I just had this problem twice as well - came from 2 different Apple phones. Any solutions?

There's two other threads on this - I suspect it has something to do with iOS's emoji or the carrier. Happens on Android too.
