My beautiful young bride has a Lumia 640. She is having issues taking pictures. After about three, she gets the message SAVING on the screen and cannot take a pic until a reboot. I've done a soft reset and also had tried to kill the camera app.

The forum has a couple of threads from last year but nothing helpful.

Any ideas?

Only a hard reset fixed that issue for me back in June 2017. Unfortunately the batch of pictures that I had taken over the weekend prior to the "saving" problem were very low quality thumbs. I would recommend the hard reset, if only to regain quality of future pictures.

Okay thank you. I may have to resort to that. I did perform a soft reset. Unfortunately, she's leaving this morning for Chicago and I couldn't convince her to switch phones yet.

I did notice that the L640 ran a lot smoother after the hard reset, the first one I had done in 2 years, so despite the effort of re-registering some apps it was worth it overall.

I just ran into this problem. Will have to do a hard-reset when I have the time. In the meantime, I installed Camera360 Sight and this app works great. Saves photo much faster and no missed shots so far in my 2 days of testing.
