Can someone help me I woke up this morning to check my 1020 and the lock button would not work and the only way I could unlock my phone was by plugging in our unplugging my charger but I know the lock button works because if hold it down it'll ask me to slide to power off but that's not all I also tried to download the new lock screen app and it just says "pending" I tried downloading other aps and it said the same thing I also tried soft reset, connecting to different WiFi networks, making more space, restarting my phone and nothing works also around the same time all this stuff started happening I tried turning off my phone and it wont stay off and sometimes when i plug in the charger to unlock my phone if I unplug it my phone still says its charging even though its not on the charger and my phone has been slow and laggy because of it can anyone help me because I really don't want to hard reset and then still have the same problems

Hi and welcome to WPCentral. I've moved your thread to the Nokia Lumia 1020 forum.

Have you tried holding the power and volume down buttons simultaneously?

Sounds like you will have to try a hard reset instead of the soft reset. Sucks but if the soft reset didn't work it might be hour only option. If you set it to backup apps most everything should come back the way it was including your tile setup.

Essentially you are reloading the os, so it will take some time. I think it was like 20 minutes for me. Make sure the phone is charged and plugged into the charger during the process. If the low battery icon comes up in the middle and the phone is charged don't worry, wait a minute if it doesn't do anything power it up and it will continue. Afterwords log in to your windows account and it will start setting it back up. You will have to relogin to WiFi as it will probably not remember the login info (on most WP WiFi has to be setup to redownload your apps after a hard reset. When I did so the only thing I lost was my notes I had in an extremely simple notes app that had no backup option.

I had my power button fail on my phone. As a work around, I turned on the double tap to wake the phone up. Ultimately, I ended up taking my phone to the Microsoft Store and had it swapped out for a new one. I had the Microsoft warranty on it and because the phone was covered by the Nokia warranty and it was not a result of accidental damage, there was no cost.
