Proclip and 1043 Case

Hello,

Has anyone here with a Lumia 920 with a CC-1043 case used this car mount?

I am interested in finding out if it works or if I should go for a "universal" kind of holder.

I have the Proclip mount (mine has the power at the bottom) and it's not designed for a phone with a case. It's a very tight fit, but highly recommended if you run case-less.

I got this for my (caseless) 820 because it looked so good. It is a very tight fit, but lovely. I'd never get my 820 into it with even the thinnest of covers.

Thing is, I haven't got anything to attach it to yet. Been looking for a compatible suction mount. Anyone any recommendations? Thanks.

Why wouldn't you buy the specific attachment that Proclip designs for your vehicle?

That said, if I'd gone for it at least it would be in my car. It's just sitting on a table at home right now. Maybe this was a bit of an impulse buy!

Did you end up going with the Universal Proclip holder since you have the CC-1043 case, or did you get rid of the case? I am using the same case, and I'm trying to decide whether to get the Universal or the Lumia 920 holder.

I have a 920 with the 1043 case so I got a universal holder from ProClip (246825). I plan to return the holder because the fit is just not very good. The phone is too loose. It is supposed to slid down into a groove and sit about 1cm away from the back of the holder. This would only work if that slot was the exact shape of the phone. Unfortunately the slot is too large and doesn't perfectly match the contours of the phone with the case. An adjustable holder should really utilize some kind of spring-based tension.
