Proximity Sensor not working

Hello,

I did a hard reset on my device. Now my proximity sensor seems to have stopped working. The screen stays on during calls and also I'm unable to set the brightness to auto. I have tried doing a soft reset. Any suggestion?

Hi, are you able to try resetting your phone using the Windows Device Recovery Tool?
Just to check, has your phone ever had the screen replaced? I have seen this issue fairly often on phones that have had the screen repaired/replaced.

No, never replaced my screen..

Got a screen protector installed? (although one would usually invoke slightly different issues.

If a WDRT or hard reset doesnt help I suspect the sensor has broken entirely.

Yes I do have a protector installed, but as a matter of fact, it was working fine before performing the hard reset.

I read in some other thread that a guy got his device working normal again after his phone accidentally fell out of a car.

Seems like this has worked for me too. This morning, accidentally my phone fell out of the bed and voila, it is now working again. Impact has fixed my phone!
