Question about the phone function on Nokia Lumia 521

Hello! I hope everyone is having a great day! I do have a question about the dialer on the phone. I noticed when you select the phone it does not bring up the number pad. The first screen you see is the history. Is there a way to have the dial pad show up first? I looked in settings and I could not find an option. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to change this or an app that would bring up the dial pad immediately?
