I'm also a former BB user (Storm and 9780).

Some things I do really miss: great battery life and the LED notifications, this was really something to get used to. But for me personally that's all.

What I really like on WP7 (Lumia 800) are the contact management, error correction on writing, smooth browsing, all the app possibilities and the calendar with the lock screen events. All in all I liked the WP every day more and I'm happy that I switched to it.

I'm still up to date with BB10 on Crackberry and with my PlayBook but WP developed much faster in the past and will do in the future (WP8!!!!).

I had a BB9700 for two years and the only thing I miss is the battery life, however I use my Lumia 900 much more than my blackberry. The last six months I had the BB I wanted to throw the phone in the toilet I hated it that much, and I probably would have if its trade-in value was lower.

Switching from the qwerty keyboard to the touchscreen of my 900 only took about a day. As far as messaging goes I prefer the style used by the windows phone, I really like how facebook chat and text messages all go one location. App wise, yeah Windows Phone doesn't compete with iOS or android in shear number, but I think it blown out of proportion, because my app needs are more than met.

I agree with you re: apps. I have more apps on Windows Phone than I did on BlackBerry. Office is much better than DocumentsToGo. I also finally get to enjoy Netflix, which is not available for BlackBerry.
