[Quick Impressions] Who Has Gotten Lumia 650?

I got my hands on a 650 recently (2 days ago, really but holidays so not a regular day experience) so here are my quick impressions:

-It's really light. Wow. I don't think I have ever had a phone this light before.
-The screen is really nice. Like @RumoredNow said, I'm also more of a IPS person too, but I have to give props where it's due.
-The front facing speakers are pretty cool. I actually forgot that the phone had them.
-I am pleasantly surprised by the cameras. I'm not sure if it is the camera itself or the updated camera app.
-It looks nice too, even though I felt kind of scared to take the back off lol.

Too early to actually comment on battery life.

Welcome to the 650 club.

Were you as shocked as I was at how thin the battery is?

I moved from the 640 on W10M to the 650 on W10M and immediately thought the camera was better. The last round of Camera App updates helped too, but I think generally the shooter on the 650 is just a bit better in its own right. The color pop on the OLED screen may be a factor that is influencing my impression as well. Since I gifted the 640 right away I never had a chance to do a side by side shootout... Maybe you could do a quick compare, libra89?

Most of the positives about the 650 have already been said so I won't repeat them. The one I will repeat is that the design of this phone is great. It's simple yet looks so elegant. I was always a fan of Nokia's designs even going back before the Windows Phone days, and loved the look of phones like the 920, 925, 735, etc. Something about this one makes me rank it higher than those personally.

It's too bad MS is going away from low end and mid range phones because if they were to ever release a 650 with beefier specs then I would be all over that thing.

Now I'm just waiting for my glam case to arrive but I'm not sure how long shipping from Finland will take.

You know that feeling you get when you go away from something you have liked a lot in the past. Well I did this about 3 months ago. I got rid of all my Windows phones (2) and went with an iPhone 6s+. Nice phone, big, heavy and allowed me to be just a bit arrogant as I carried it around day to day.

Fast forward to 4 weeks ago. WM pangs set in and I could not afford to buy another 950xl. I was on Cricket anyway so stopped into the local store to see what was available for a WP. There was this cute little thing just staring back at me from the phone wall. I picked it up and almost threw it to the ceiling: God that thing is light.

Found out I could get it for $49 dollars since I was already a customer. OK, not a bad price and if I hate it, I don't have much invested. I bought it an off I went to set it up. Did the updates and loaded the apps I used all the time on WM and darn. This little beauty runs quite well for the processor and memory it has.

Today, I still love it. Best money I ever spent on a WM phone for what I get from it. I like the hardware and the screen is very nice. The few apps I normally run do well and the tiles update in a timely fashion. The OS... Sorry, I had to stop here and throw up because the thought of the OS status made me sick.

I carry both phones with me and switch the SIM card to suit my mood that day. Great little phone and Cricket is a very good and stable carrier. AT&T without the bloat.

Have a good day folks; backk to playing with my new toy. 5 weeks old and I still call it my toy. Must be a match made in Arizona LOL

Sorry, I had to add this. Just scrolled down on the screen to post this posting and the first thing I see is Hillary in a swim suit. Barfed again. I hate it when that happens...

Thank you! I was shocked at that too, lol. I can see if I can try something like that.

As for the shootout, I will try to see if I can make a light one happen this weekend, and maybe I'll take one picture each with ProShot too, just because.
