Quick photo related question

So I remember reading the 1020 takes two copies of each photo you take. The one in camera roll is 5MP oversampled. How do you access the high quality version?

Have to connect to a PC and browse the pictures folder, you'll see them there.

Will it delete the high res photo if you delete the 5MP one?
