Rarely able to send pictures via sms

Today and maybe one other time i was able to send pictures via sms. I dont know why it wont work most of the time

Sending pictures via SMS is actually MMS and requires a data connection from the cell carrier. They will not send over WiFi.

Yes i have tried with both. Funny how the cell carrier never brought that up last time i spoke to them. They only said it should work. I think i also contacted Nokia on a forum maybe last year.
