RBS UK app EOL on 16/11/2015

Just received an SMS from the bank saying support for the app I am using will discontinue on 16/11/15. The best bit? The message includes a link to 'update' the app that takes you to.... the google play store. What is going on? One of the worlds biggest banks giving up on WP? As my bank and an app I use frequently, this would be enough for me to leave WP. hope its not the case..
