Real Memory amount

I keep seeing pictures of memory amount on Surface 3 2 GB and 4 GB being 1.9 GB and 3.9 GB.
Does the onboard graphics take 0.1 GB from the ram ?

Don't know what it is for sure, but I do know that its not abnormal. My laptop was similar with 2, 4, 8 GB of RAM, these school desktops are the same usually, etc. (except i think some are 32-bit, so 3.5 GB RAM registers)

I believed this lost amount is for the system
