Reformat PC after 1 year Win 10 was launched

We all know that Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free within a year after it was launched.
My desktop came with Windows 7. Off course I will upgrade it to Win 10. But what if after a year of Win 10 launching date, the desktop has problem and I have to format my desktop? I will be use the installation DVD that came with my desktop, that will be Win 7. So, I have to pay to upgrade it to Win 10 then?

Yes, make a recovery disk.

Although win 10 will be installed against your msft account, probably, so as long as you don't lose that you'll be ok even if you don't create a recovery disk...

Though a recovery disk or backup is always a good idea

If it works like previous versions of Windows, you'll get the license when you install Win10 the first time, then that key will work again in the future.
