Replacing Album Art with Media Monkey or Mp3tag

Hi all,

So it's another of these threads from me. After trying and failing to get Microsoft looking into this problem of missing album art, I'm trying to resolve the issue myself now manually. I've downloaded Media Monkey and Mp3tag and I thought I'd replaced the embedded art that the phone wasn't picking up, but when I have synced the album back to my phone the art is still missing. Can anyone help (Lumia 930).

Also, is the hidden Album folder in the phone anything to do with how the phone picks up the art? This is full of art, including for those albums that aren't showing it.

I'm usually edit the album art on Computer by Windows Media Player. Open Windows Media Player and "drag and drop" the picture from Windows Explorer

The art XBM shows on the phone isn't necessarily the art embedded in the file. It grabs it from online.
I read in another thread that using XBM to Add the Artist to your Collection will untangle the fact it doesn't display art. Not tested it though - gave up on Windows Phone for music playing.
Quite how they had a design meeting and no one had the balls to point out that ignoring the embedded album art was a bad decision, I've no idea.

The most annoying thing is that the 8.1 sync app on my pc shoes the art, so why the phone can't see this at either is the most infuriating thing. The weird thing is, mix radio shows some of the albums where I'm missing at in XBM, but doesn't show it for some that work fine in XBM.

Drag and drop the image you want into the album on windows media player?

I've experienced the same thing as you with Xbox Music on my Lumia 1020.

After adding the album art using Mp3tag, the Xbox Music app fails to refresh all the albums, causing the albums to not show the latest album art. Wheres the old Music app (that can be accessed through the Music Hub Tile app) correctly shows the new album art immediately.
