Reserved space dilemma solved

Hey guys, was having the same issue. Was able to solve it by opening zune and under phone settings > sync options, clicking erase all content, frees up the space, all you have to do is resync your media files from zune afterwards


For all those who have chunks of reserved space and you have np clue about it, please follow the above steps, whatever space left after that is the actual space along with the actual reserved space.

yeah but make sure not to use ALL you reserved space....

there is a reason why they add reserve space.... just like on Pc,
(you should always have at lease 500mb/1Gig of reserved free space)

Hmmm. SO is all that is erased just the Zune added media files? Why does that improve things over just deleting stuff? Is there a memory leak issue that this cures?

So...? What is gained beyond momentary, relative confidence of what is on a phone?

There is still no better "clue" on what was in reserved space or what will be -beyond what Zune tells us the space includes. Also, as soon as we get an email or set an appointment or <many other smartphone activities>, the space will begin to fill, and one is back to an "issue" or "dilemma" state.

There are "issues", and then there are complexities: Complexities (such as storage) make computing fun.

One complexity is how you can "fill" your phone completely, or nearly so, with music and other media, and then still be able to go to the marketplace and download a couple of albums, take pics, get mail, etc. Yet, when you reconnect to your computer, you won't be able to sync until you free up space equal to the extra albums, etc. Hmmmm...

Another complexity: how much storage does a recurring daily appointment require vs. a single-ocurrence one? Hmmm...
