"Resuming" screen every time I unlock my phone?

I have a Nokia Lumia 521 and I've never had any problems with it but just yesterday I went to unlock it and it showed a "Resuming" screen for about 5 seconds before it showed my lock screen and it's been doing that every time ever since. This has never happened before and it's a little irritating. I was wondering if there's a way to fix that and if any one she has experienced it?

The most possible reason that I have seen ...and encountered in my phone were the active kids corner or Cortana's live tile....remove it and see if it helps.. Or try switching off kids corner ...it worked for me so should be making up for you as well.

Do you have Live Lockscreen app installed? Or have you had?
I had the same problem, even after uninstalling.
Hard rest fixed it for me, but apparently there is a less drastic fix(if that is what is causing the issue on your phone of course)

Had the same issue. Enabling and then disabling Kids Corner was the fix for me (Lumia Icon with 8.1 with Update)

Starting Kids Corner brought up a toast to disable live lock screen. Did that and then disabled Kids Corner and no more Resuming issue. Thank you!

This helped! Bizarre there is no ability to turn off "live lock screen" from the lock screen setting... Poor planning

that is live lock screen bug, active kids corner and then turn off live lockscreen (you can turn off kids corner after it) I hope this could help you.

That worked for me as well. I had deleted live lock screen but for some reason it was still running in the background. When I activated kids corner it asked me to shut live lock screen off and when i did the problem was fixed!

I was experiencing the same problem and even after taking off Cortana live tile. What worked for me was TURNING ON kids corner. Apparently I had downloaded a Live lock screen app, even after uninstalling it still had some affect on my lockscreen. Turning on kids corner fixed the issue.And feel free to turn kids corner off if u want.

I was about to reset my phone but the Kid's Corner trick worked! Kid's Corner requires you to disable any live lock screen. Thanks!

Never had Live Lock Screen, but have been having the issue on my 1520.3. WP 8.1 + Cyan no P4D.

I think the culprit is actually the stock Music and Video Apps. They don't let go of the file even after the App closes and the RESUME is a null background process trying to access the file off the SD card for an App that is closed. (My theory anyway.) "Resumes" always came after accessing media from SD.

I've switched to ModernMusic for audio and MoliPlayer for video. While MoliPlayer plays like every audio and video format I can't get it to play under sleep mode... ModernMusic does that.

Just flashed the phone back to stock for the second time (after fiddling uselessly with Kid's Corner with no remedy several times). First use of Music and quit, doomed me to resume screen. After moving off the stock players, I've indulged heavily in music and lightly in vid; turned the phone on; put it to sleep; normal motions; more media; more motions; more sleep/wake... No issues today.

Lord I hope this solves it.

Seems to have worked for me too, Uninstalled the Live Lock screen app the other day and have been seeing this all the time, infact I missed a few pictures the other day because of the delay waiting...

Did this (kids corner trick) and it seems to have fixed it....awesome...thanks

Another workaround apart from Kid's Corner is Go to Settings -> Lock Screen -> choose background option -> Select Bing
Problem is solved.
If you want, you can set it back to your custom photo as well.
