Apple may be greedy control freaks but the iphone4 did work better than my lumia920; MS appear to have 1 media system that various apps use...meaning if i listen to radio i lose the pointer to the audio track i was listening to on mp3s, same with videos etc.
I wont comment on how poor 3g radio is as i can't be sure if its the phone or my carrier, seems unable to hold a signal for more than 10 minutes.

What's your maximum connection speed set to in settings? 4G or 3G?

Lumia 920 is a 4G phone and comes set as default 4G. You have to swap it to 3G if you choose to use it with 3G network.

My 8X is all the phone I'll need for the next 18 months at least, then I'll upgrade accordingly to the next HTC or Nokia. Who knows what MS has planned for the next updates behind closed doors but I'll say that good things are on the way.

Not necessarily. It depends on where the phone is sold and to what network it is sold on. My carrier free CV-GB unbranded 920 still doesn't have 4G enabled yet and the same is true for other 920's sold in various other countries too.
