Saving Family Room OneNote notebook

I've gotten the email from MS about all files being no longer available from groups after Oct 16. I'm trying to make sure I keep access to all my files. Copying the individual folders (photos, etc.) is pretty straightforward, but it's a little more confusing with the OneNote Family Room notebook. The family folder on OneDrive has a file that seems to show the Family Room notebook, but I suspect this is just a link. In OneNote (2016 preview, anyway), I see a way to move the file location of the notebook, but I'd like to at least make a copy to be sure. It also seems possible to export the notebook, re-upload, and re-share it?

Any best practices for doing this? My Family Room notebook is totally key! Thank you!

If you are the owner of the room. Your file will still be there, the members will no longer have access. The one note will continue to work but you may have to reshare the notebook through the one note app.

Oh, and any files, photos u had will still be in your OneDrive, you may have to reshare the folder with the people u want.

It would be great if it's that simple, but it doesn't seem so from the wording of the email from MS. Maybe it's just the difference between the files being on the OneDrive of the owner and then shared vs being in the group. The text is below.

"Groups will no longer be available in OneDrive after October 16, 2015, and all group files and info will be deleted. To see your groups, go to OneDrive.com, sign in, and then look under Groups in the navigation pane. If you want to keep any of the group files, follow the steps in Move files from a group to your own OneDrive. To share the files again after you move them to your own OneDrive, see Share files and folders and change permissions."
